PEACHTREE CITY, GA. (July 17, 2026) – Five restored WWII-era aircraft from Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Airbase Georgia are flying cross-country to the annual EAA AirVenture Oshkosh Fly-In and Convention in Oshkosh, Wis., July 20-26, 2026. The Airbase will be offering rides to the public on four of the aircraft at Fond du Lac County Airport, near the EAA AirVenture site. Rides can be reserved in advance by going to airbasegeorgia.org.
Airbase Georgia, based in Peachtree City, Ga., and one of the largest units of the CAF, plans to fly in with its popular P-51 Mustang, “Red Nose”, its venerable Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless dive bomber; an LT-6 Mosquito, and a T-34 Mentor. Rides on these four aircraft will be available to the public at Fond du Lac County Airport July 21-25. The Airbase also is sending its rare P-63 KingCobra fighter for public display at EAA AirVenture.
