CAF Airbase Georgia Bringing Rides Aircraft to Fond du Lac before AirVenture 2023

PEACHTREE CITY, GA. (July 10, 2023) – Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Airbase Georgia will bring two vintage aircraft to Fond du Lac County Airport in Wisconsin on July 22 to give aviation fans an opportunity for rides before EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023. The Airbase will sell rides on its LT-6 Mosquito and its T-34 Mentor July 22-23, as an added feature before EAA AirVenture begins. Rides can be purchased in advance for these special dates, and throughout EAA AirVenture, on the Airbase website, www.airbasegeorgia.org.

“We have a great relationship with the Fond du Lac County Airport team, where we always operate our rides aircraft, and we are delighted to extend our visit for the benefit of aviation fans who want to come and see us,” said Airbase Leader Joel Perkins.

Airbase Georgia is one of the largest units of the CAF, bringing several restored WWII aircraft to EAA AirVenture each year. This year the unit also will be flying in with an FG-1D Corsair, which will participate in a special Corsair reunion; its popular P-51 Mustang, “Red Nose”; and its venerable Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless dive bomber. Rides also will be available on the Mustang and the Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless again this year, during AirVenture 2023.
