The Flying Legends of Victory Tour, featuring a B-17 Flying Fortress (Sentimental Journey) and a B-25 Mitchell (Maid in the Shade), returns to Dekalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) this week for tours and rides. The aircraft, operated by Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Airbase Arizona, will be joined by five CAF Airbase Georgia fighters and trainers for memorable rides opportunities.
Flying Legends of Victory is the 2026 U.S. tour for the rare and iconic B-17 Flying Fortress and B-25 Mitchell. Tours of both aircraft begin Tuesday, May 12, and rides will be available May 14-17 at PDK Airport. Airbase Georgia will add five aircraft to the event, with rides available on each of them May 16-17. The Georgia-based aircraft scheduled to appear are a P-51 Mustang, SBD-5 Dauntless dive bomber, LT-6 Mosquito, PT-19A Fairchild and a T-34 Mentor.
“This is an amazing opportunity for aviation enthusiasts and history buffs to experience a unique array of World War II aircraft at one location,” said Airbase Georgia Leader Mark Richards. “These events exemplify the mission of the CAF, which is to educate, inspire and honor. We are proud to honor the Greatest Generation by sharing this experience with our Arizona unit.”
