Timed to coincide with the 49th anniversary of the show’s pilot episode Flying Misfits, the book offers fans an unprecedented look behind the scenes of the series that inspired a generation’s love of vintage military aviation.

The Presentation

Stephen Chapis will debut his book at the CAF Airbase Georgia on Saturday, December 13, 2025, starting at 10:00 am. In a dynamic presentation, Chapis will share:

• Personal anecdotes and stories from cast and crew interviews
• Rare behind-the-scenes footage and photos
• Insights into his two-decade-long research process

Special Aircraft Display

• A Vought F4U-4 Corsair that flew in the original TV series, now owned by collector Bob Bull
• A replica Nakajima B5N2 “Kate,” operated by CAF member Alan Armstrong, also featured in the series
