SUMMARY:TRARON Formation Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a Commemorative Air Force TRARON Formation clinic at the Atlanta Speedway Airport (KHMP) from November 14-17\, 2024. \n\n\n\nAll Commemorative Air Force TRARON members are welcome. Training will be offered in the T-6/SNJ/Harvard\, Beech 18/C45\, and T-34 Mentor. Pilots seeking formation training in other aircraft shall contact the organizers before registering to confirm sufficient and appropriate aircraft are expected. Participants are required to be Commemorative Air Force and CAF TRARON members prior to arriving at the clinic.  \n\n\n\nArrival day is scheduled for Thursday\, November 14th and the clinic will begin with a mandatory safety briefing each morning at 0800. Ground school will be provided at 6PM on Thursday the 14th for those needing initial and recurrent formation ground instruction. Training will conclude Sunday the 17th. \n\n\n\nPlease review ALL of the registration steps below before proceeding: \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER ONLINE. Begin by supplying the requested information\, and pay the registration fee. Late registrants will receive their flightsuit patch after the clinic. \n\n\n\nINSURANCE REQUIREMENTS. All TRARON clinic participants must have comprehensive aircraft owner’s liability insurance for all aircraft that will be on the clinic premises or participating in the clinic\, with coverage that meets the following requirements:\n\nAmount: Coverage in the amount of not less than $1\,000\,000 per occurrence Combined Single Limit Bodily Injury and Property Damage. If per passenger sub-limits apply\, such sub-limit coverage shall not be less than $100\,000 per passenger.\n\n\n\nTypes of Operation: The coverage shall include all types of operation contemplated at the clinic\, including “formation flying”.\n\n\n\nTerm: Coverage for the duration of the clinic.\n\n\n\n\n\nCERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE. Each participant shall supply a valid Certificate of Insurance (COI) in advance\, satisfactory to TRARON\, evidencing such coverage and naming the Commemorative Air Force Airbase Georgia as an Additional Insured. The COI must contain the following specific provisions and language:\n\nPilot Name: Include the name of the authorized pilot(s).\n\n\n\nAircraft Identification: Include the aircraft type and registration number.\n\n\n\nName of the Certificate Holder: “The Commemorative Air Force Airbase Georgia\, and its officers\, directors\, sponsors\, clinic staff and organizers. CAF Airbase Georgia\, 1200 Echo Court\, Peachtree City GA\, 30269. Certificate Holder is included as an Additional Insured.”\n\n\n\nWaiver of Subrogation: Certificate shall include a Waiver of Subrogation. However\, if your COI is issued under an excess liability policy that does not contain hull coverage\, this requirement does not apply.\n\n\n\nOther Additional Named Insured: Registrant must refer to the event registration page to determine whether other entities (e.g.\, airport\, event host) must be named as additional insured on separate COIs supplied to TRARON.\n\n\n\n\n\nHOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT. Prior to attending the formation clinic\, all participants and volunteers must complete the hold harmless agreement here.  This is the standard CAF hold harmless form.  Please select CAF Pilot or CAF Volunteer as appropriate and specify “Airbase Georgia” as the Unit.\n\n\n\nMEALS. Lunch will be provided on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday. Pizza and light refreshments will be offered on Thursday evening during ground school. Saturday dinner will be organized at a local restaurant convenient to Speedway Airport (cost of dinner to be covered by participant).\n\n\n\nHOTELS. You can contact the airport at (770) 288-7829 to confirm transient hangar availability.\n\n\n\n\nAll pilot participants must be Commemorative Air Force TRARON members. You are required to be TRARON members prior to arriving at the clinic. We do not have the ability to register with TRARON at the clinic.   \n\n\n\nCancellation Policy: \n\n\n\nWe will issue a full refund if cancellation is received prior to November 1st\, 2024. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an exclusive warbird photography event at the Atlanta Speedway Airport (KHMP) on November 15-16\, 2024. The Commemorative Air Force’s Airbase Georgia will be hosting its annual formation training weekend at the Atlanta Speedway Airport. This event brings in many classic aircraft and allows you the opportunity to shoot them in an exclusive environment. Experience classic aircraft ranging from vintage Cessnas\, L-Birds\, T-6 Texans\, and WWII fighter aircraft. Each day starts with a safety briefing at 0800 at the Hampton Airport ramp. \n\n\n\nThe highlight of the weekend will be a night run of WWII fighter and trainer aircraft on Friday\, November 15th\, weather dependent. A backup session of Saturday\, November 16th will be run in the event there is inclement weather on Friday evening. This session will allow you up to 15 minutes of static night run photography for at least one fighter and one T-6 Texan. \n\n\n\nWhat to Bring \n\n\n\n\nCamera – Bring whatever camera for which you are most comfortable.\n\n\n\nSafety Vest – All photographers will be required to always wear a bright orange or yellow safety vest. You may purchase one of these at your local hardware store or online retailer.\n\n\n\nLenses – We recommend a wide variety of lenses to capture different angles of the multitude of aircraft that will be operating off the ramp and runway.\n\n\n\nTripod – We will be shooting at night and a tripod is highly suggested for nighttime photography. \n\n\n\nFlashlights for light painting – We recommend a very bright flashlight of 300 or more lumens.\n\n\n\nCamera Bag – Please bring a comfortable bag. You will be working off of a live aircraft ramp and we will not have a place for your to place your spare lenses and bodies. Organization is key to a great shoot!\n\n\n\nBE PREPARED FOR WEATHER – It could be sunny\, rainy\, hot\, cold\, and anywhere in between. Be prepared with inclement weather gear for your person as well as your gear.\n\n\n\nKneepads – The asphalt and concrete ramps are hard on your knees. These will allow you to keep your knees in great shape while also allowing you that low angle shot!\n\n\n\n\nWhat is Included \n\n\n\n\nExclusive photography sessions and photography guidance by our volunteers.\n\n\n\nAccess to vintage aircraft\n\n\n\nExclusive night-run on Friday night after sunset (*Saturday if Friday is cancelled due to inclement weather)\n\n\n\n\nWhat is NOT included \n\n\n\n\nTransportation to and from the event.\n\n\n\nTransportation to and from the ramp area and the bathroom facilities.
